about

Impassive Dome was written by Theresa Wallner in 2000. The song is inspired by the family cat Gustav. Theresa and I both have a love of tonal clashes, which she makes excellent use of in this piece. (I use them in Kyrie).

lyrics

He gashed my hand in silence
Immediately an impassive dome of redness rose
And kept growing (2x)
On turning my hand I discovered bleeding
Other lacerations which had started to bleed
Why had he done this? Why?
Today he spoke to me gently he rubbed my back affectionately
But when he lay down I thought "don't you slash me again"
At which he got up immediately and moved slightly away.
